Dear Friend,

Let me begin by wishing you a very warm welcome to myforeignpolicy.com. My aim is to create a site which provides a forum for lively debate and fresh ideas in the field of international relations.

Our contributors will vary in age, writing experience, knowledge of foreign affairs and, quite frankly, intelligence. I wouldn't wish it to be any other way. For one of the key and, in my opinion, distinguishing features of this site is its openness to all. Whether you're a young teenager just starting out on your academic journey, or a wise-old professor at the head of your specialist field, you're views are equally welcomed. This is based upon the conviction that an argument must be judged on its merits, not by the person proposing it.

Please, feel free to get involved in the site. Make yourself at home. Post arguments, write essays, vote on issues, or just browse.

,

All the best,

Mark Bellamy
