Internship Petition

We, the undersigned, petition the Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to close the legal loopholes which allow for the abuse and misuse of employment laws by employers who staff their offices with unpaid interns to whom their is no reasonable prospect of paid employment.

Such internships should be outlawed, ensuring everyone is reasonably and fairly paid for the work they undertake.

Unpaid work placements should only be issued to those currently undertaking college or university study, and for whom the experience of a work placement would enhance their understanding of a chosen subject or profession.
